On May 11, 2021, the first meeting of the  “POSTCARE. Posting of third country nationals in care services – the current state of play and scenarios for the future” project was held. The meeting was opened by the project beneficiary, CONFSAL, and the partners along with their organisations were introduced then they presented the project.

The expert coordinator of the project made a presentation highlighting the methodology of the research phase, in which the research objectives were highlighted. However, aspects of its development were not specified: the existence of templates for surveys, interviews, and the preparation of the national report; the time frames for carrying out these actions, etc.

In the last part of the meeting, a short discussion took place during which a number of issues were raised, with interventions from the representatives of the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. Of the issues raised (not all resolved), the following were agreed:

– Involve in the research phase, together with caregivers, other health professionals.

– Clearly define the scope of the research phase: what is meant by caregivers?

– Assess the impact of professional qualifications obtained in other countries when working in the country of destination and how this affects the movement of migrants or migrant workers.
